On March 22, 1756, a church in honor of the Holy Forty Martyrs of Sebaste was consecrated in the Kostyki estate.
In the museum of local lore in Vileyka there are church documents from the mid-19th century to the early 1960s: inventories of the church and church property for 1849 and 1858; books of marriage searches for 1871-1898; metric books of different years; inventory and cash books, parish records, correspondence of priests with various persons and institutions of 1898 -1917 years and others.
The last entries in the surviving church documents date back to February 1962. Most likely, at this time, having served the Lord and people for more than 200 years, the church in Kostyki was closed, but not desecrated. The church was not given over to a village club, nor was a warehouse built here. The locals, as they could, secretly and openly, protected their shrine.
In summer 1989, after almost 30 years of oblivion, the church opened its doors again to its parishioners. It was one of the first churches in Belarus to be opened and re-consecrated after a long destructive persecution of religion.
In 2014 a survey of the church was conducted and a request was sent to the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus for repair work. In 2015, the renovation of the church was completed.
Church of the Holy Forty Martyrs of Sebaste in Kostyki village is a monument of wooden folk architecture with elements of classicism. The church is included in the State List of Historical and Cultural values of the Republic of Belarus. Today it is the only church in Belarus consecrated in memory of the Holy Forty Martyrs of Sebaste.
The church is attributed to the parish of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Rechki village.
