On April 26, 2022, a meeting was held between the cleric of the Cathedral of the Holy Righteous Anna in Stolbtsi, Priest Alexey Kruchko, and students of the 8th grade of the Secondary School No. 2.
The meeting was held as part of the memory lesson “We are bequeathed to cherish this world”, the theme of which was the upcoming celebration of Victory Day.
During the speech the priest emphasized that war is always a place of tragedy, where the former normal person dies and a sufferer disfigured by pain and evil is born. Speaking of heroism and heroism in the course of military operations, it would be worth avoiding extremes in judgments, because we are always talking about the complex interweaving of human destinies. A blind and thoughtless creation, the spread of the slogan of recent years among the people: “Thank you for the Victory! We can repeat it!” – this is a sad indicator that the lessons of the war have been forgotten, and the concepts of peace and justice seek to find a false interpretation.
“For a Christian, life is a rapid run of a human child to his Heavenly Father. It is impossible to slow down this pace or distort this trajectory in pursuit of temporary earthly comfort and well-being, which gives rise to conflicts, wars and confrontations. But being the “salt of the earth”, Christians are called to resist evil and its consequences, without trying to justify it or ignore it,” Alexey noted.
