On August 26, 2022, on the day of the celebration of the appearance of the Minsk Icon of the Mother of God, celebrations were held in Minsk in honor of the 1030th anniversary of Orthodoxy in the Belarusian lands.
Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslav, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus in the co-ministry of Archbishop Dimitri of Vitebsk and Orsha, Archbishop Guriy of Novogrudok and Slonim, Archbishop Sophrony of Mogilev and Mstislav, Archbishop John of Brest and Kobrin, Archbishop Stefan of Gomel and Zhlobin, Archbishop Anthony of Grodno and Volkovysk, Bishop of Bobruisk and Seraphim of Bykhov, Bishop Leonid of Turov and Mozyr, Bishop Porfiry of Lida and Smorgon, Bishop Pavel of Molodechno and Stolbtsi, Bishop Ignatius of Polotsk and Glubokoe, Bishop Ambrose of Svetlogorsk, Vicar of the Gomel Diocese, Bishop George of Pinsk and Luninets, Bishop Eusebius of Slutsk and Soligorsk celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the square in front of the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Minsk.
The archpastors were served by: Rector of the Minsk Theological Academy Archimandrite Athanasius (Sokolov); secretary of the Minsk Diocese Archpriest Andrei Volkov; chairman of the Award Commission of the Belarusian Exarchate, chairman of the Parish Council of the Holy Spirit Cathedral of Minsk Priest Dionysius Kovalev; clergy of the Cathedral, clergy of the Belarusian Orthodox Church and guests in holy orders.
The deaconess rank was headed by Protodeacon Vladimir Nazarov.
The sermon before Communion was delivered by Archpriest Andrey Volkov.
After the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, the glorification of the Mother of God was performed.
Then Metropolitan Benjamin addressed the audience with a word of edification.
Further, in connection with the celebration of the 1030th anniversary of Orthodoxy in the Belarusian lands, His Eminence awarded the archpastors of the Belarusian Orthodox Church with jubilee medals dedicated to the significant date.
